What We Do
Operational Readiness & Transition
We help organisations plan and run the last mile either side of go-live for digital systems, services, and technology transitions: commissioning and operational-readiness work that gets a new system, service, or capability genuinely ready to run — and, at the other end of its life, the retirement planning and controlled shutdown that takes it safely out of service. This sits between 'the solution is designed' and 'the solution is embedded in day-to-day operations', and between 'the legacy system still runs' and 'the legacy system is safely gone' — the two transitions organisations most often underinvest in. Scope is digital systems, services, and technology transitions: commissioning and decommissioning here mean readying and retiring software, platforms, and IT services, not physical plant, equipment, or electrical/mechanical engineering commissioning, and Timcliffe is not an equipment manufacturer or specialist engineering authority. This is operational and business readiness, not test execution (Quality Engineering); it readies, transitions, and retires infrastructure rather than building it (Cloud Engineering); its security considerations are a readiness-assessment input, not a security-delivery claim (Cybersecurity); and it is distinct from management-systems/certification readiness (ISO & Management Systems Readiness Advisory). It is the execution discipline that Digital Transformation's programme framing and Enterprise Architecture's target-state design both hand off to, not a replacement for either, and not a substitute for the underlying technical delivery (cloud build, AI solution engineering, and similar) or for data migration, which remains a Data Engineering & Analytics service unless explicitly scoped per engagement. We do not guarantee a go-live date, service-level outcome, or delivery result, and make no regulatory, accreditation, or certification claim of any kind.
Capabilities
- Operational-readiness assessment, planning, and go-live/readiness-criteria definition — covering dependency, data, access, and security considerations as readiness-assessment inputs, not a security-delivery or certification claim
- Commissioning, rollout, and cutover coordination into live operation, including operational handover to the teams who run the service day to day
- Rollback and contingency planning, and evidence-based readiness reporting to support a go/no-go decision
- Decommissioning and controlled retirement of digital systems and services no longer needed, including transition and handover to whatever replaces or absorbs them
Our approach
Assess
Operational-readiness assessment, planning, and go-live/readiness-criteria definition — covering dependency, data, access, and security considerations as readiness-assessment inputs, not a security-delivery or certification claim.
Commission
Commissioning, rollout, and cutover coordination into live operation, including operational handover to the teams who run the service day to day.
Decommission
Decommissioning and controlled retirement of digital systems and services no longer needed, including transition and handover to whatever replaces or absorbs them.
